Mr. Tang Hoang Ca's household, residing in Sao Luoi Hamlet, Khanh Binh Tay Bac Commune, Tran Van Thoi District, is renting a combine harvester to harvest more than 1.2 hectares of his family's rice.
Standing in front of the rice field full of grain, Mr. Ca excitedly said: “This winter-spring crop, my family chose to grow ST 25. Every year, this is the most reliable crop, bringing the most profit to farmers. The estimated yield can reach 45 bushels/cong or more. With the current rice price of 8,500-9,000 VND/kg, each cong after deducting expenses can earn from 3-4 million VND.”
Mr. Ca said that although rice prices are not as high as before, with current prices and productivity, winter-spring rice farmers still earn a good profit.

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop, farmers in the whole province planted more than planned, with more than 35,200 hectares. Of which, mainly concentrated in the districts: Tran Van Thoi, U Minh, Thoi Binh and Ca Mau City.
Farmers have started harvesting the winter-spring rice crop since before Tet until now. As of February 11, the harvested area was more than 12,800 hectares, reaching more than 36% of the sown area, with an estimated average yield of more than 5.5 tons/hectare.
